Hello everyone, That’s all animals sorted and my feet are up resting …it’s been a really busy week lots animals gone to new homes and a few on hold until they are neutered on monday.

When the wind drops the injured owls are ready for release back to the wild , both are doing extremely well.

Also Just a message for some people Rosey’s funeral is on monday the16th january at 11am at the New Melrose crem , anyone who knew her will know how much we are missing her .

Sorry to have to let you all know that Rosey our very special volunteer has sadly passed away .She fought hard against her illness and never complained but she will never be forgotten at arthurshiel … my assistant shit shovellor she used to call herself a long standing joke between us all. Bye for now and i will keep u all informed .Thanks shona

Hi folks, the wind is back with great gusto, part of the old cattery has decided to move further in to the woods everyone and cats are fine. It’s so sore when the rain hits ur face but nearly all done for the day .

Tock the gerbil has gone to new home good luck wee man.

the 2 injured tawny owls we got in before christmas are ready to go back to the wild once the wind and weather gets better.

Hope you all had a lovely day , i went swimming at lunchtime ,new keep fit programme as it is ONLY 5months and 11 days till i try and do the 3 peak challenge … i WILL be fit as a flea by then and half the person ….. it’s a work in progress and if by any chance u see me striding out along the back roads PLEASE dont offer me a lift as a refusal is often hard for me to say lol.

We have had no strays today yipeeeeeee.

But on a less happy note Rosey my right hand woman who used to cover for tom and i when we went away [not very often] but she religiously worked at the centre since she retired more than 10yrs ago.She has been ill for the last year , sadly she isn’t going to get better no easy way to say this she has cancer and is in final stages. I went to hospital in Peebles tonite to visit her and feel this world is so ill divided , I cant put my feelings into words BUT by god it’s hurting ..

Rosey and I have had many a laugh over the most trivial things , like the time we bought matching baseball caps mine said Chief shit shovellor and rosey’s said Assistant shit shovellor . This year I am climbing the 3peaks in June and the reason is we need a new small animals shelter -cats, etc. Rosey loved doing the cats even though she had 3 dogs she fostered all our kittens and puppies .

Well enough for tonite I WILL BE BACK TOMORROW judy …lol

The people who tied me to a bench on new years day 2011 have done me the biggest favour …I was called Blue by the centre people but my new family named me Merlin ..I have grown into the most beautiful dog people have seen and i have a big brother and fantastic mum and dad. I have sent you a foto to compare …..

Merry Christmas everyone, we hope you all had a fantastic time with family and friends.

We have had a lot of great gifts for the animals , lots of bedding and food Thanks to everyone who is helping us at this busy time.

The cocker spaniel tied in Asda carpark on christmas nite is still with us he is chocolate and white , has a docked tail and is a lovely wee chap, surely some one knows if they have lost a dog —— foto to follow .

We have had numerous call outs . Also we had a few fone calls about a fox on the charlesfield road, this wee chap is so tame when u stopped your call beside him he just stood and listened to every word you said to him. I whistled he sat i was then convinced he wasn’t wild ,so set a trap 2 days later we caught him and much to our discussed he is very tame –conclusion is someone has had him as a cub and hand reared him then when he has grown up he smells so what do u do you put him back to wild —-NO it no work , he was trying to get into peoples houses WHY OH WHY are people so thick to think he could survive by himself.. rant over sorry. I will be back soon with fotos of the cocker and fox.

I am back … busy busy time here , THANK YOU all who have donated food and blankets it has been fantastic.

I havent been around because i now have take on another job at our local vets from 4.30pm till 8pm …needs must.

Auntie kate thank you very much for all the dog food you donated and dont even have an animal and as far as i can remember never have.THANK YOU HUG xxxx

We have had a tabby and white cat found in stirches Hawick last week foto to follow.

The white stuff is back and the animals are all bedded and fed so all is quiet at the arc..x

Due to certain members of the public taking advantage of this place WE are now sticking to our opening times …. we do need time to clean and as some folk think we are open 24 / 7 this is stopping. The only time we will go for a stray is if we are called out by the police, council or a vet. I am really sorry we are also closed sunday’s and monday’s . I have now had my RANT and so sorry to have to put this up on my blog . thanks shona

Hi everyone, fantastic news this week our wee bald chap has found a forever home… great news . Also a guy has been walking barney the red collie fingers crossed he decides to give him a new home .

The buzzard who was found by the side of a road is making a full recovery —- we are collecting road kill for his supper and people are giving us strange looks as we scrape rabbit or squirrel off the local back roads.lol.
